Hand sanitizer has isopropyl alcohol in it but it is NOT isopropyl alcohol. It has other ingredients in it that make it gel-like so it adheres to skin and delays evaporation.
A properly educated science teacher would know this and would not use hand sanitizer. The stupid burns. Literally.
She should be fired immediately.

They also use ethanol...either one will burn, and if it is in a gel like carrier it will, as you said, not evaporate immediately,and cause a lingering fire with burning...isn’t napalm jellied gasoline?
