Jeb was a good governor in Florida, but not a great one in that his brand of pragmatism did not offer major conservative reforms or a clear governing philosophy. Running for President in 2016, Jeb was unable to explain just why he should be president, other than that he would be another Bush in the oval office — and not even the GOP wanted that. There is no sound basis now for the GOP to take political advice from Jeb, a failed political figure of the past who now urges us not to take lessons from the past.
