I am and always have been a fan of Ronald Reagan, but one of RR’s worst decisions was selecting GHWB as his running mate. I understand why he did it, i.e., to reassure the establishment GOP that he wasn’t Barry Goldwater #2. Nonetheless, that selection ultimately started a chain of events that did immeasurable damage to the country. And I say that as someone who voted for the Bushes in 4 general elections (though never in a primary). Seriously hoping that “P’s” political career goes down in flames. In an ideal world, the Bushes would retire to Kennebunkport and never be heard from again.
I agree with you re G Bush 1)Regan bad decision 2) his reason for picking GB. If my memory is correct, GB was an ambassador to China for several years prior to his political years. Can’t help but wonder is some of our China problems come from his time in China.
