Yes. Of course. This is about a group of people (those whose lives/careers/stature/money are all dependent upon the current state of government) who will do essentially anything to preserve the status quo. Once corruption has permeated any entity it becomes self-protective and very, very difficult to root out.
If you love this nation, and you believe in freedom, and in telling the truth, and you believe that we are stronger when all of us have the freedom to openly express our views without fear of being targeted personally by those who disagree with those views, and you believe in the old credo 'I may disagree with what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it', then you just have to be extremely disturbed by the direction our nation is headed in.
