Lots of very dangerous terrain in NV. If you don’t know, don’t go. LOTS of places with no cell service for a long stretch on a main road*. We were in such a stretch in east Nevada a couple years ago and I told Mrs rktman if something happens out here, good chance you won’t make it to sunrise.
*If only branDUHn would get the infrastructure fixed....

That is worth repeating. If you do go, make sure your vehicle is suitable for the roads, an RV and a Kia are not what you need on rough back roads in Nevada. Be sure to bring a lot of water, at least 1 gallon per day per person, and some survival camping gear, and emergency food.
And make sure somebody knows to come looking for you if you don't come back at the expected time.
