The Medina County Elections Department is urging registered, qualified voters who vote absentee to take great care in filling out the required mail-in ballot carrier envelope.
In the March 1 Primary Election, 14 voters committed errors in filling out the carrier envelope, according to Medina County Elections Administrator Lupe Torres.
To help voters avoid the same mistakes that could result in their ballots not being counted, Torres provided instructions for correctly filling out the required information (see examples for correct ways to enter information).
This information will be contained in the absentee packet mailed by the elections office to qualified, registered voters. A brightly colored notice will be affixed on top of the carrier envelope reminding voters to read all instructions carefully when filling out the information.
The notice reads, “Attention! Please do not forget your TXDL / TXID or the last four digits of your Social Security number on the Carrier Envelope before you seal and sign your envelope.” Arrows pointing downward will indicate the place for the ID numbers on the Carrier Envelope.
Also included will be (in English and Spanish) a “Don’t Forget Your ID Numbers” reminder. Torres said that the elections office recommends providing both – the elections office may have only one or the other ID on file.
Although the State Election Code does allow voters to cure errors on the carrier envelope, they must still mail in (or hand-deliver) ballots by the mandated deadline.
Section 86.002 of the Texas Election Code) states that registered voters who qualify to vote by mail, have to apply (by the required deadline) for a mail-in ballot.

To be sure your ballot is counted, mark straight party voting for the Dems.
Just ask your carrier to learn the correct choices
And if they don't fill it out correctly they'll be more than happy to "fix" it for you.
First, you rifle thru your neighbor’s mailbox.
Second, you grab your neighbor’s ballot.
Third, you fill out for the Democrat du jour.
Last, you mail it in.
