I would have smacked the guy for being that misleading...
How did you handle it? (probably better than I would have)
I just grabbed my wife’s hand and said:
“We are leaving”.
I know the guy, and have never said a word to him since.
We live in the same small town, and I made sure to tell everyone in town the story.
