Did you notice how easy it was to get close to the Birds? Just amazingly tame compared to what I'm used too.

The part of SA I saw (the northeast) is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. On the way to Kruger we stopped at what was described as the third largest canyon in the world (can't recall its name)...after the Grand Canyon and a canyon in Namibia.Amazing!
I didn't notice the birds so much as the elephants and the lions. They were somehow willing to have us get right up close without bothering us.
