I looked at some pics of people with alopecia. a lot of it is in round type patches and not a straight line...leading me to think it might be due to traction alopecia

I noticed that, too. The one person I know with that condition (very young woman) has NO hair - totally smooth scalp. No eyebrows. Maybe no lashes, I forget. It is a miserable condition but there are organizations that provide wigs. She is a beautiful young lady and very sweet.
I am not ruling out that she is making it up...but I will say she rocks the bald look. She looks a lot better after she took out those ridiculous cheek plants

Alopecia appears as blotches, not a nice straight line in the hair that looks suspiciously like a shaving booboo.

However she got it, perhaps from corn-rowing or braiding, some sort of stress in that area, she made a video about it for all the world to see, so it’s not as though she was so ashamed of it that it was a secret she didn’t want exposed.
