I agree with you, I think we both know what the real answer is, my post was sort of a rhetorical question, that I already knew the answer to.
“...my post was sort of a rhetorical question, that I already knew the answer to.”
Yea, I know. I was just giving specifics. What pisses me off about the GOP is that there are ways oppose to oppose what populists like DeSantis do, but WITHOUT making it into a cat fight. A couple of examples:
1. For Governor Hogan, he can simply say something like this: “While I can only speak for Maryland, here we don’t see the problems that Governor DeSantis is seeing in Florida.”
2. For Trump in 2015, when he came down the Escalator, ANY Republican could have responded like this: “While Mr. Trump is bringing up a serious problem that concerns many, if not most Americans, I likely would have used less ‘colorful’ language to express my position on the issue.”
In both cases above, what we instead here from the others in the GOP are PERSONAL ATTACKS, either on DeSantis or on Trump. For the second, they were like “Trump’s speech was filled with hate!”
As I’ve noted before, I was an instant Trump fan after his speech, not because I trusted Trump (that came a while later), but because I knew that the rest of the GOP had NO INTENTION of addressing illegal immigration.
