Look, one has to be skeptical of all news sources. One of the Strengths of the US judicial system is to have opposing positions presented to a jury that will decide what makes sense.
A long, long time ago, I had a former journalist, who I shared an office with. He had gone to college and gotten a degree in journalism. He was taught that a reporter should present the pro’s and con’s of a story and let the reader decide. That concept disappeared way back.
A long, long time ago, legislative hearings were held to present the pro’s and con’s of legislation so that unintended consequences could be exposed to the legislators who would then modify the legislation so that it was good, fair, and didn’t harm people. That too disappeared a long time ago.
