Russian Interior Ministry: Two helicopters shot down; the commanders of the Azov battalion were shot down

Two Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopters were shot down in Mariupol.

APA's Moscow correspondent reports that the statement came from Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov.

According to him, in the morning of March 31, official Kyiv tried to evacuate the commanders of the Azov Regiment from Mariupol with two Mi-8 helicopters.

The general said that "DNR forces" shot down a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter with the Stinger complex they seized.

One of the helicopters crashed near the village of Rybatskoye.

The second helicopter was damaged by a rocket, but flew into the sea, but crashed 20 kilometers off the coast.

According to the report, 15 people were killed and two survivors were captured when a helicopter crashed near the village of Rybatskoye.
