Madison Cawthorn's Letter to Joe Biden on Inauguration Day
Van Duyne House Web Site ^ | 1/20/21 | Madison Cawthorn et al

Posted on 04/01/2022 6:28:42 PM PDT by ifinnegan

On Inauguration Day 2021 Madison Cawthorn and 16 other freshmen congressmen wrote Joe Biden a letter.

The letter congratulated Biden on his presidency and administration, stated they hoped to work together with him, decried the "horrific attack on our nation's Capital (sic)" and lamented "the partisan divide between Democrats and Republicans does not serve a single American."

The entire text is as follows with the 17 signatories.

----

January 20, 2021

President-elect Joe Biden

1401 Constitution Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20230

Dear President-elect Biden,

Congratulations on the beginning of your administration and presidency. As members of this freshman class, we trust that the next four years will present your administration and the 117th Congress with numerous challenges and successes, and we are hopeful that – despite our ideological differences – we may work together on behalf of the American people we are each so fortunate to serve.

After two impeachments, lengthy inter-branch investigations, and, most recently, the horrific attack on our nation’s capital, it is clear that the partisan divide between Democrats and Republicans does not serve a single American.

The constituencies we represent showcase the variety of thought across our great nation. From Texas to California and from Oklahoma to New York, Americans are tired of the partisan gridlock and simply want to see leaders from both sides of the aisle work on issues important to American families, workers, and businesses.

We hope to work with you to extend targeted, meaningful coronavirus relief for families and businesses, protect Americans with pre-existing conditions, strengthen and modernize our infrastructure, enforce our antitrust laws against emboldened technology monopolies, and restore our economy struggling in the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic.

We firmly believe that what unites us as Americans is far greater than anything that may ever divide us. In that spirit, we hope that we can rise above the partisan fray to negotiate meaningful change for Americans across the nation and maintain the United States’ standing as the best country in the world.

Sincerely,

Reps. Stephanie Bice (OK-05), Jerry Carl (AL-01), Madison Cawthorn (NC-11), Scott Franklin (FL-15), Andrew Garbarino (NY-02), Carlos Gimenez (FL-26), Yvette Herrell (NM-02), Ashley Hinson (IA-01), Young Kim (CA-39), Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11), Peter Meijer (MI-03), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-02), Barry Moore (AL-02), Jay Obernolte (CA-08), Burgess Owens (UT-04), and David Valadao (CA-21).

I’m saying the obsequious congratulations to and placating of Brandon, deeming Jan 6 “a horrific attack” and call for bi-partisan cooperation deserves a barf alert.

Deserves more than that.

They should be calling for Biden to reach across the aisle. Turn it back on them. Do you like one party American Marxist rule?

"...the horrific attack on our nation’s capital"

Thanks Cawthorn for perpetuating the lie.
And ignoring the Americans that have been stuck in the DC Gulag for a year. And for ignoring the pro-Trump supporters that have been killed by Washington DC Gestapo.

This is pretty much just a generic obligatory letter signed by multiple legislators to welcome a new President. It’s kind of ridiculous to have this constant obsession over this letter like it is something definitive...not even accurate to call it “Madison Cawthorn’s letter.”

Where personal respect I had for him was lost was his divorce - not because he got divorced in of itself - but the given reason was that he was too busy in Congress and they couldn’t make the marriage work with the career and so they decided to part ways. If that’s the case, he should have declined running for re-election or even resigned early - priorities were not straight...and that is reflected in other behaviors. It is very sad in a personal sense and he is going totally screw up his whole life if he continues to have his priorities in reverse.

I had no idea he was divorced or even married. I don’t care really.

But this letter is not a run of the mill letter.

It was a kneeling down and pledging obeisance.

When did it become a surprise that the average Republican is a go along, get along?
