All foreign leased aircraft still in Russia after the termination of Western leasing contracts have been entered into the Russian aircraft register and will remain in Russia, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said on Thursday.
The imposition of sanctions by Western powers in response to Russia's military campaign in Ukraine forced Western leasing firms to terminate leasing contracts with Russian airlines for more than 500 aircraft. More than 400 of these are still in Russia.

I like that move.
Pretty smart wouldn’t you say?
Same here.
The war is not about ukraine-russia, but between great reset-vs-great awakening.
Russia is Great Awakening (exiting SWIFT, moving to gold-backed currency, taking down ukraine bio-labs,etc).
That puts ‘us’ in the great reset camp.
This is going to make doing business with the West after this war is over impossible. Russia will be decades recovering from this disaster.
How long can they keep a Boeing or Airbus plane in the sky with no parts or maintenance from the company?
Exchange them for Russia’s $300 billion in seized reserves
I’ll trade you your aircraft for my luxury yacht.
“Pretty smart wouldn’t you say?”
I don’t know much about the leasing of big airplanes but . . . I am doubtful the Russians are going to be able to keep the planes flying for long without western repairs and replacement parts.
Those things will be hard to come by I’m guessing.
Russia is able to manufacture their own, I think.
“I like that move.“
You like aircraft being stolen from companies?
Why?
They’ll be like Iran with the Shah’s F4s. Just keep gutting planes for parts till the flying number dwindles down to nothing. The companies who own these planes will never do any business with Russia until they pay for the planes.
BERLIN, March 31 (Reuters) - “The German economy ministry is considering expropriation of Gazprom (GAZP.MM) and Rosneft (ROSN.MM) units in the country amid concerns about security of energy supply, business daily Handelsblatt reported on Thursday, citing government sources.”
“Russia will be decades recovering from this disaster.”

And the future looks so bright for the US economy!
I find the tit-tat moves entertaining.
Looks like governments around the world aren’t hiding their theft anymore, doesn’t matter which side they are on.
Tomorrow will be interesting. Will KGB Putin shut off the gas pipelines? Enquiring minds want to know.
Russia is an economic pygmy in the grand scheme of things. 12 years they have been cliaming they were going to move away from the dollar, accumulate gold and all they had was $130 billion. That’s just so utterly pathetic.
