Sometimes it’s less expensive to engineer and build in the factory one mechanical version but have multiple versions of software enable features.
So it’s driven by economics.
So if a few million people opt not to subscribe to having these so called options in their cars, all that equipment, parts, labor, energy and resources to install all this in these vehicles, is all wasted?

I get it, they mark the prices up for this sh*t up so high, it don’t matter if it’s never used!
