p.s. I know every man over 16 knows how to shave and not meaning to condescending in post 32. I post all the details because many men I know have never used a safety razor and are not familiar with some of the nuances. Most guys I know either used only disposable razors/cartridges, or electric their entire lives. Those disposable are getting stupid expensive.
With a safety razor there will be about a $120-150 up front cost, but after that, is is MUCH less. That upfront investment is what most guys will spend on 8-10 packages of plastic junk. Double edge blades can be as cheap as twenty cents each, for Japanese quality. German blades are about seventy cents each. Mine last three weeks +
...ok...NOW...really...promise
..that is all =o)
Barbasol...
Best shave cream...
Best razors...
I can get a couple of weeks out of a decent razor blade system. It starts going doing hill after a week or so, but they don’t rip my face off.
In a pinch and when traveling, I’ve used gf’s mild face soap. Agree that Williams is a bit harsh, but it does last for an eternity.
Speaking of traveling, TSA (take [stuff] away) will take your double edged blades from your carry on. They actively seek safety razors in the x-ray scan, which tells them you also have blades. Ask me how I know and I’ll tell you about stubble & razor burn vacations =o)
Have a plan B for travel.
1 bar lasts a year for me.
Oh! ...and I submerge the blade in mineral oil after drying.
Lol,that’s true- shows how street dumb I am. I thought “crappy razors, cant shave, oh well, they are useless I guess” cuz I couldn’t thi k of any other uses lol.
I am not a beard guy but I don’t have any animosity towards people do have them, including woman...
Its cool for a while, then the hair starts going in my mouth when I eat and I look like useless old hippie.
I don’t shave any ore. Just use c,ippers to,keep the beard part cropped, and let the mustache grow a bit. Haven’t shaved In Years actually. But I don’t work so the scruff look is fine for me. Back, when I did shave though, the 2 blade ones woild last me about 1 week as I never used shaving cream - just dry shaved every morning. They would have lasted longer with shaving soap.

That makes me think if something else...
Hey, Jeremy’s Razors: How about an homage to Burma Shave and a road sign campaign...
I am surprised at this point that CDC hasn't issued edicts telling you how to manage your beard...
Adjustable safety razor with Personna Med Prep blades. Blades cost 20 cents apiece, and they last a long time. The razor will outlast me. Mug, brush, and shaving soap if I have time. Clubman barber shop shaving cream if I’m in a hurry. Nothing compares to the shave I get from a safety razor.
By the way, how many blades are those weird, expensive cartridge razors up to now. Fourteen, isn’t it?
A friend has invited me to a Spring Training game this weekend. I have shunned almost all professional sports for the obvious reasons, but I think I am going to go. The weather will be perfect, and I admit I do miss baseball.
It’s come to the point where there is virtually no escaping it, no matter what you do.
great ad
love it
Who is DSC?
Lol “Thou shalt groom thy beard on the third Tuesday of every other month or face a week’s worth of mask wearing when out in public”
Is anyone into body building? What is the best way to get rid of all body hair?
Wow! Thank you. I do have one but I am probably using it wrong as I would get cut a lot and could never get under my nose. Maybe I’ll have to try it again....
Ping!
