YES! That roll technique! I’ve seen it and am aware of it when people are using it, but never could seem to master it myself.

Many times when you take on someone in a bar, they aren’t using a table so there’s no box, and no grips. And sometimes his, or her, forearms are longer and it makes the roll hard to get on top to get the full effect. Also, it makes sense not to take on some gorilla that is going to crush your head if you use it. Sliding your shoulder in and behind the wrist is legal when you use the box. But a smart person will slide away from it if you try to use it on an open table and slide out and uncouple. But I have won a few beers using these techniques. And I was faster than the gorilla to the door.
