When Republicans, as predicted, regain control of the House and Senate this November, they will be expected to fulfill a dual mandate.
Americans want Republicans to energetically pursue a centrist commonsense America First agenda by supporting legislation that reduces inflation and crime, protects America's borders, improves educational curricula, and restores U.S. energy independence.
Voters are also demanding that Congress immediately launch investigations into a plethora of wrongdoings engaged in by Joe and Hunter Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Eric Swalwell, progressive governors and mayors, their allies in the Intelligence Community, members of the Jan. 6 Select Committee, Anthony Fauci, Big Tech and Big Pharma CEOs, and legacy media.
According to Florida congressman Matt Gaetz, to meet those demands, the GOP will "turn every committee in the Congress into an oversight Congressional committee."
And thanks to precedents set by Pelosi's January 6 Select Committee, these Republican-led committees will possess extraordinary new powers to gather evidence, compel witnesses to testify, and refer for criminal investigation potentially guilty parties.
Over the last few months, Republican notables such as House minority leader Kevin McCarthy; congressional representatives Matt Gaetz, Ronny Jackson, and Tim Burchett; and, in his CPAC speech, former president and 2024 hopeful Donald J. Trump, among others, have publicly outlined an emerging laundry list of GOP-led committee investigatory targets, including:
-The failure of Department of Homeland Security director Alejandro Mayorkas and the Biden administration to close the southern border and their willingness to allow millions of illegal migrants into the U.S.
-The bungled withdrawal from Afghanistan that cost American and Afghan lives.

The hierarchy of the Republican Party is deep state, and has been for years. It’s not Democrat or Republican, it’s the party of Washington, and their focus is totally on Washington. They only “talk” about America and American interests. When it comes to actually changing things for the better, the interests of Washington always prevail because that’s where the trough is. Corruption follows money, and the largest river of money on the planet runs through Washington.
“ How I wish the GOP would grow a spine and do this”
So many of us do, that it shows up in their research. So they know this is a message that will motivate their target audience, to contribute and vote for them. Maybe it is just the Midterm marketing program ramping up.
It could also be that the election season just stirs their blood a bit more, and then they just naturally tend to slip back into more congenial behavior when the election is over. Just not perpetually riled up, like the Left is.
We had a chance with the election of Trump. Unfortunately, Trump did not realize what the DC GOP was. Had Trump had the same understanding of the DC GOP that you do, the country could have been saved. Trump, even after being ran out town on a rail by these Uniparty (R) hacks, still doesn’t get it.
The same thing that happened when the GOP majority investigated Hillary Clinton’s state department leaking top secret materials to the world.
Just ask RINO big barking mouth no bite Trey Gowdy - zero, zip, zilch, nada!
The same thing that happened when the GOP majority were going to repeal Obamacare after virtue voting to repeal it several times while in the minority.
Nothing.
RINOs will make sure that DemocRATs are protected.
Next question......
They will do nothing because unless the RINOS are all removed from office, they will need to cover their own rearends. DC it’s a cesspool of evil people from all walks off life.
You mean his entire term and after.... may they ALL,burn in hell and may it be very soon.
“And thanks to precedents set by Pelosi’s January 6 Select Committee, these Republican-led committees will possess extraordinary new powers to gather evidence, compel witnesses to testify, and refer for criminal investigation potentially guilty parties.”
This is the best part of it all.....
Just dont put RINOs on these committees.... same thing the rats are doing now....just cherry pick folks that are sympathetic to your cause.
beat me to it. Not a thing. Why even bring it up?
Unfortunately, I expect nothing. I vote Republican because I hate what the democrats have become but my expectations of them following actual principles are very low.
Your reply #1 is exactly right.
I 'see' what you did there...
Fair point.
It’s all theater. The uniparty’s will be done because the uniparty is 95% criminals
Impeach Biden.
Investigate the Capital Police. Release all communications and reopen investigations into the use of force against unarmed Jan 6 protestors. At least one and maybe two capital police need to have the committee release indictments for murder against them.
The investigate the tortuous conditions under which Jan 6 political prisoners have been held and the utter lack of fair trials they have received in Washington DC.
Strip all police and prosecutorial powers away from Washington DC……yes, Congress has the express authority to do this.
Investigate the lack of prosecution for Klantifa rioters from Jan 2016 as well as from the Republican convention of 2020. Some arrests and prosecutors of these violent criminals need to be undertaken.
There will be much more to do in 2024 when President Trump is back for his 2nd term such as busting up Big Tech and empowering the President to fire much of the Civil service.
The GOP leadership will do NOTHING, because they are compromised and blackmailed.
The GOP will do nothing.
I’m not going to hold my breath while waiting for republicans to do anything they promise to do. They have a long long history of making promises that they never act on, and never intended to act on.
