Friend put away my can opener where I didn't expect it. Made me realize I need a backup. Must be hand operated not electric
In before the P-38.
Only because it took me a couple minutes to find a reasonably sized image of one.
;-)
I bought a manual can opener that doesn’t leave a sharp edge and love it. It cuts on the side and doesn’t cut if you touch it. It was about $8 about eight years ago, so probably more expensive now. It’s worth it.
SWING-A-WAY, FReepers!
Really?
Seriously?
You think you need FReeper help to find a can opener?
Lordy, Mercy what is wrong with you?
I gotta Army Surplus store sells p-38’s cheep. They don’t seem to hard to operate when you’re hungry. I got them laying around everywhere.
brain damage
I`ve been happy with the side openers that don`t leave any sharp edges. You can also use the lid again even if they say you shouldn`t.

Looks like swing away is a top choice
I suppose if somebody was desperate enough, they would use a large, solid boulder as their ‘Can Opener’.
Just give a good wind up pitch like your favorite Major League Pitcher, and throw it good & HARD!
Every Swiss army knife has a can opener. Get one and get a life beyond such silly posts. :)
Turn the can upside down & rub it on concrete.
Now can openers are hard to find.
Thanks Biden.
I have the Swing Away. Works great! Have to use it at the edge of a counter or table when opening a short can like tuna or cat food.
