When are we as a society say these dogs are outlawed.
Well Ontario has had a sort of ban in place since 2005. They grandfathered it in. No breeding or importation of them. 4 purebred breeds and any cross breed that appear like a pit. They’ve eased a part of it in allowing a dog that looks like a pit but hasn’t attacked anything to be returned to the owner until testing determines if the dog is Pit enough. I assume they have criteria for that.
Anywho we are now approaching 17 years since the ban was passed. The only legal Pits still here had to have been born in 2005 or earlier. We are probably close to zero now. That said people are people and of course we have a few no doubt that are illegal. Like so many things.
In other words, never. That's one bell that can't be unrung.
