If nothing happens then the Fatima crowd will say that the Pope made at least two major mistakes:

1. He encouraged all bishops to join in the consecration without requiring them to do so, and

2. He didn't limit the consecration just to Russia, but to the entire World.

I'm sure the jot and tittle types will find additional reasons why it wasn't exactly as directed.

I don't see a problem with this. Our Lady's original instruction was in the form of a request ("I ask...") not as an order.

2. He didn't limit the consecration just to Russia, but to the entire World.

Again, she didn't say "only Russia," only that Russia be specifically named.
