My symptoms initially were headache, fever, fatigue, muscle aches & sore throat. Later I lost my sense of taste for 5 days. The cough and fatigue were the worst and unfortunately, even with the above regimen, I was pretty severely impacted by this virus. It was a month before I felt semi-normal and it took me 6 weeks to recover.
Thank God I never progressed to pneumonia and hospitalization. I’m 68 with mild hypertension, but my husband’s 73-year-old BIL died from Covid & pneumonia on January 6th and my own 69-year-old brother died of the same on January 26th. Both of those events weighed heavily on my mind during my illness.
The worst thing about this virus is how differently it affects ppl. My husband was the one who brought it home and he was over it and back to work in 5 days, FFS!
Sorry to hear about your relatives. My MIL also died on Jan 6 - THE Jan 6! It was an awful day all around.
Congrats on being immune from whichever variants you got! Also my condolences on the losses in your family. I lost my beloved older brother (days away from 71, who had several comorbidities) to CoVid last August. I miss him so much. It does affect each of us so differently.
I’m fairly certain I had Omicron in very early January. One day after the New Year I woke up with my ears ringing and feeling like I was coming down with something. Immediately I took extra doses of lysine, zinc, vitamins C and D3, plus more quercetin. That’s what I take daily (in addition to many other vitamins and minerals, but no prescriptions) but also keep extra on hand.
I took an at home test which was negative, and forgot to take a subsequent test because the symptoms were all gone later that day. It was very very mild.
A few weeks later, I had my annual checkup, and my doctor suggested that I get an antibody test to see if those were just mild symptoms of CoVid or something else altogether. My antibody test was positive. So I’m one of the lucky ones. Covid wasn’t even as bad as a cold for me. I credit Dr, Zelenko and FReepers for getting myself into a healthy condition.
