Improve his game if he thinks he could still win. Or, if he thinks all is lost, he’ll withdraw to focus on wiping out his internal rivals. Hard to fight a war and deal with internal opponents at the same time. Nicholas II suffered a similar defeat, but rallied to take out his enemies.

Yeah, and the Bolsheviks killed not only Nicholas II, but his entire family, as well as the family dogs (Ortipo, who was bayoneted; and Jimmy, who was shot). Sick bastards, the Bolsheviks.
