Pedestrians do not belong on roadways due to the known dangers. That includes cops walking up to cars to issue summons. Pull the vehicle off a highway exit or send them a ticket in the mail.

It's dangerous enough with disabled vehicles that require attention or vehicles involved in crashes but putting officers and drivers lives in danger for revenue raising is criminal.

Pedestrian trespassers on highways need to be prosecuted. Repeat ones even more so. The law doesn't treat homeless and Emotionally Disturbed Persons" (EDPs) highway trespassers as ruthlessly as they need to.

Well I have to say I don’t know if they actually administered the test before or after the killing crash. I know she said they recorded her driving 110 in a 50, one would assume it would be standard practice to give a test if driving at that speed????

Another black chick purposely ran down a cop who was directing traffic on the 495 service road in Queens not long ago. She also went online talking anti cop trash as I recall.

Is there a special Darwin Award that applies to members of the law enforcement community?

“New York State Corrections”

I had to make a service call for some communications equipment in one of those old upstate prisons. I had a security bit kit with fifty bits amongst my tools. They made me list every single one of them on the form before they would let me in. So after a couple hours of going through all the bullshit, I pick up my gear and head toward the metal detector. “Don’t bother” they say “just go around”. I could have had a sawed off and a couple of hand grenades in my pockets — they didn’t search me. Buncha bozos.

Funny thing is, I was going to fix the videoconferencing equipment in the U.S. IMMIGRATION COURT. They had an IC inside the prison! What the actual F!

Your experience made me laugh. Making you list all that shit was ludicrous. If they were so concerned about what you were bringing in, they should have had an officer escort you, and stay with you while you did your job. That was the normal process when I worked in the system. Of course, I retired almost 20 years ago, so I have no idea what procedures they follow now. And every prison was run differently, even though they shouldn't have been.

As far as the Feds go, the Border Patrol would periodically show up to pick up some convict who was being released from State custody. We didn't do video conferencing that I know of. If an inmate had a court hearing, he'd be taken to it by two officers. If the hearings were downstate, he'd be dropped off at the nearest State facility overnight, then picked up the next morning, and taken to the court.

I'm certainly glad I retired when I did. I would have hated having to work during the lockdown. I'm sure it was a zoo.
