Personally, I like the designer sunglasses, on a completely overcast day. You know - makes me wonder if Kyle might have had an easier time in the Kenosha legal system, if he had 'dressed for success' (like he was going to a photo shoot ;>). Correct. It’s a hyper corrupt oligarchy run by a murderous thug who has 6,000 or so nuclear weapons at his fingertips. That thug and his cronies thought it would be a good idea to violate the UN Charter, which they signed on to, and invade a neighboring country in an illegal war of conquest.
Now I don’t like the Ukrainian government any more than the next guy. They’re a smaller hyper corrupt oligarchy without nuclear weapons. But there’s a precedent being set here, if we allow it anyway.
If Putin gets away with this I guarantee Taiwan is next. And we have serious national interests in Taiwan right now. So as distasteful as it may for the time being be coming down on the side of the Ukrainians is the correct move in terms of American national interests.
An American government run by grownups would be publicly shipping anti-aircraft systems to Taiwan just as fast as humanly possible just to show the Chinese that we won’t tolerate any moves on their part.
But we don’t have a government run by grownups so that’s probably next. And if that happens American troops will be involved.
Ya see sometimes you have to work with people who aren’t angels in order to stop people who are worse. Grownups realize this.
