There but for the grace of God, go I.

When I was a kid, I drove like a real moron. It’s a wonder I didn’t kill anybody or myself.

In 1978 this 16 year old idiot would take as many as six teenagers home in a 1965 VW Bug - two in the passenger seat, three in the back seat, one in the space behind the back seat. No seatbelts.

It’s a wonder we survived.

Damn near died the same way when I was 15 and driving home from Church with 3 others in a Volkswagen Beetle.

It was a car and she managed to just hit me with the side of her car. We all could have died that day.

Same here. I was a traffic hazard every time I took the wheel. Only a series of miracles kept me from killing myself or others.

Now, my 16 year-old daughter just got her license and I live in a constant state of terror. This tragedy really hits hard. I cannot imagine what these parents are going through.
