A hawk slammed into a deputy in Florida, scratching his face and nearly knocking him over. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said Monday in a Facebook post that Corporal Andrew Porcelli was performing security checks when a hawk “bounced off the side of his head.”
“All he knew is that the impact nearly knocked him off his feet,” the post stated.

“Fortunately, security footage captured the feisty feather fighter go in for the dive with a precision T-bone hit to the target. With no warning to dodge the incoming thump, Porcelli sustained a signature hawk scratch to the head. Not to worry though, he will be fine.”

I have been buzzed by various birds, attacked by various birds, bitten and in my travels been pooped on by various birds.
Big birds and little birds. From Ospreys to blue jays. From mockingbirds to red tailed hawks.
Unfortunately most of the time I didn’t have a weapon...

Buzzed, attacked, and bitten all seem preferable to being pooped on, lol.
Years ago when young, I went to New Orleans with my parents and their 2 best friends for vacation (I was probably about 14-15 years of age then). We ate at a lovely restaurant with courtyard seating (I believe it was ‘The Court of Two Sisters’) and all of us were dressed in our out-to-dinner dresses and nice suits and ties on the men.
While sitting at our outdoor table, a big bird flew overhead and pooped right on the suit of my parents’ friend Vic. A huge dump of white bird poop that dribbled down his very nice dark suit. Actually, we all ended up laughing because what else can you do?
The maitre d’ came over hovering and apologizing, while trying to wipe the poop off with a big white cloth dining napkin, and the restaurant ended up paying for having the suit cleaned the next day. Plus they paid for the dinner. The food was great though. A totally unexpected dining experience.

He was carried off to the nest and devoured.
I worked on a small FOB in central Baghdad for a while that had *lots* of date palm trees all over the base. And *lots* of various birds, including the migratories who hung out in the fall and winter months populated those trees.
I got nailed on my shoulder once at an evening outdoor karaoke party and had to go change my shirt.
But the funniest one was when a Navy Commander I worked with and I were outside the office chatting on a spring afternoon. I smoked back then and was probably having a ciggie. A big blop of white goop landed on Hank’s forehead as we were talking and he just stopped and said “”What is that??? What is it???” I was no help; I was convulsed in laughter while trying to warn him it was starting to run down his face. He took off to the head at a run. I still laugh when I remember that. 😂🤣
