Miles of armored divisions, navy, Marines, national guard, air, female army (happy to be there), security, flag-hoisting ceremony, plus representative squads of NATO military (Poland, Latvia, US, Estonia, Canada, Rumania, Lithuania, others).
No neo-Nazi presence, or snappy uniforms.
Ukraine very big on ceremony, anthem, Orthodox priests lining the streets, and fly-overs—much-dupicated militarism from Brezhnev-era military practice.

The Russian National Unity [Russian Nazis] adopted a red and white modified swastika emblem, openly expressed admiration for German national socialism and publicly celebrated the rise of the Nazis.
MOST IMPORTANTLY many of Russian National Unity militia wearing black and camouflage uniforms; with the red and white modified swastika emblem, & publicly celebrated the rise of the Nazis joined PRO-RUSSIAN FORCES in Ukraine in 2014: when the war in Donbas began!!!
Further, the Russian National Unity sabotaged what was to be a “free and fair referendum.” Again, remember the conversation between Barkashov and a local Donetsk activist Barkashov said to Boitsov that he could CALL-OFF the “referendum on independence of the territory.”
Barkashov said that it WAS NOT NECESSARY to perform referendum the LEGOT way. He said that in the end no one would care about it.
He told Boitsov all that he had to do was to write whatever he found suitable. If he wants, he can say that 99% of people voted for joining Russia!!!!!!
