A republican door to door campianger who worked Indiana District 1 from 1992-2014. It is a waste of time and resources but it did develop my skills at a door talking to party unaffiliated voters. If we worked over a neighborhood we might get a 5% shift. The margine is 15-25%.
District 1 is surburan chicago North of US30, and upper middle class commuters living in rural south of US 30.
The bigest federal item is extending a train line 11 miles from hammond to dyer indiana. Any other federal project is bailing out individual voter strongholds.

Indiana District 1 isn’t the Indiana Media environment. Is not indiana culturally, you cannot get a road side pork tenderloin anywhere. You ask the consituatants who their governor is and JB Pritzker is the answer.

Wrong. District 1 could have swapped some D areas for more rural areas with adjacent districts, making it a likely R seat.
