We know about the tires and other issues, but this guy goes on to say in 6-8 weeks all equipment will be down and Russia won’t be able to supply food to troops 20-30 kilometers in, which is ridiculous, as is a few other things in that very slanted article. Ukraine has no chance of winning without direct US & NATO intervention.
In a few more weeks the only thing left will be the insurgency which they’ve already planned and trained for. US special ops is rumored to already be deployed for special operations. We (the US) are going to keep this going on as long as possible, to wear down the Russians and keep Russia isolated from the Western democracies, i.e. discourage Nordstream2 and anything that would leave Europe dependent on Russian energy. This was the plan all along, all the rest is just window dressing to make it palatable to the people.
When the ground dries out the Russians will be able to move cross country, and use all those Ukrainian dirt roads. I don’t know about their trucks, but if they try hard they should be able to round up enough civilian replacements that will run on decent roads at least. Whether their organizational abilities are up to that who knows.
But the problems with supply will remain, if the Russians don’t also come up with the manpower to provide security to their logistics and rear areas. With the manpower they have committed this is impossible. They can’t hold impermeable lines. The length of frontage they have created in Ukraine is enormous.
Or they could “freeze”, or abandon, major axes of operations and go on the defensive there, and they may be doing that on the Kiev front, with the defensive works and flooding they have carried out, to concentrate both logistics and manpower.
