I’ve read that. I think Russia also has less than half the population as the U.S. (140 million I think).

Russia had 143 million residents, citizen and others, in 2015. Their population is shrinking. Their population growth was 0% in 2019 and -0.2% in 2020. And 74% of their population lives in the cities. Lots of open country.
