I'll see her for the first time in four years, in just a few days.   We intend to give her $1,000 to help pay for the trip.   Possibly the cost of gas on the way from Michigan to Georgia will color their opinion.   My wife is the one who talks with our daughter every day and apparently the blinders already have slipped away to a degree.

Part of the communications gap is that our daughter and son-in-law have been entrenched in academia for twenty plus years, whereas my wife and I only have high school diplomas with only some college.   It is sad commentary on education and reality that, because of that, we are more well informed than the kids.

Interesting...but good that maybe she’s figuring out she’s been deceived. If she does then there are others...I hope a lot of them.
