I’ve known about this case for a long time. I was hoping this story would be about a resolution after all these years. Sad for her family to not have an answer.
Sounds like an xfiles episode.
-She was murdered on Halloween
-She just turned 16
-Murdered on a hilltop in a clearing, just like Baal worshippers did in the Bible
-Even today the Union County Prosecutor’s Office refuses to do a DNA test

Interesting that about that time movie makers had started showing the Devil worshiping movies with Satan winning.

The Satanic Bible was popular, written by magician LeVay. Lots of books on how to cast spells were popular. Bookstores even changed the name of the area these books were in from “OCCULT” to “NEW AGE’.
I remember, 1978, finding a pile of rocks set up like an altar in an very isolated lake spillway, and there were rumors of various local teens going into Satan worship.
Several other incidents also were making the news at that time, one of a naked young man, his head in a bondage leather mask, found dead on a California beach.
And few remember a big fire in San Francisco in the 1970s in which fire departments were hindered when they found “dungeons” with young men chained to the walls in the burn area. THAT story dropped from sight real quick.
