The chipper is one machine I always approached with a great sense of awareness. One wrong move could be your last. I always make sure there are no limbs hanging behind me that can drag me into the chipper. I always approach from the side of the machine instead of down the middle. Still never know what could happen in a split second.

I remember tractors who had long drive belts like on threshers. Very scary.

I shudder at the very sight of a chipper.

Sincerest empathy for the family. The death of a loved one is hard enough, with added horror of this accident.

True. Real life is dangerous and unforgiving.
Was told long , long ago,”There are no minor chainsaw accidents”. I would state unequivocally that a wood chipper would be much less forgiving than a chainsaw.

What does that have to do with treating a tragedy in an offhand way? And how does this help the mission of free republic? If I wanted to see this kind of nonsense I would go to Yahoo! News.

I am agreeing with you. Young man with not years of experience working with extreme danger. The insensitivity of describing what was being videoed is especially abhorrent.

Can’t believe some are making light of this. God rest that poor young man’s soul and give peace to his family. Can’t even imagine what they must be feeling.

I was thinking the same. Maybe this is what South Carolina should start using instead of the firing squad. The chipper would provide instant fertilizer.
