A Wildwood woman was arrested after fleeing an altercation at a Wendy’s restaurant in Oxford.
Officers were called at about 1:30 p.m. Friday to the Wendy’s on Will Odell Avenue where a woman had suffered a swollen right eye with severe discoloration, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.
The woman who had suffered the injury said she had ordered 23-year-old Gaelle Adelina Adelson to go home because she was “being rude” to the general manager while inside the business, the report said. Adelson turned to the woman who had ordered her to leave and told her to, “Stay in your lane.” Adelson started yelling at the woman while “bumping into her.” Adelson struck the woman “multiple times in the face” with both hands. Adelson fled the scene in a Nissan Altima.
Police found Adelson at her home at 402 Orange St. in Wildwood. She was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of battery. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $500 bond.

You don’t even need to ask.
A wild woman? Figures. Well, she was fleeing the altercation. So would I.
She lives just off Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue - and about three blocks from Sambo’s Customs on Main Street!
“The woman who had suffered the injury said she had ordered 23-year-old Gaelle Adelina Adelson to go home because she was “being rude”...”
Was the victim’s name Karen?
The Nissan Altima is another “don’t need to see a pic” clue.
I am having a bit of a time following the story, but is this article stating that Adleson only punched the first woman after the first woman starting chest bumping her and pushing herself into Adleson? If so, she could have a claim of self-defense had she not ran and instead stayed to explain to the cops and see if this was captured on a security vid. Not that being told to go home if her immediate supervisor thought she had been mouthing off to the general manager is a reason to fight, but if the first woman was chest bumping her and forcing her to backup and kept making physical contact, i could certainly understand popping her in the eye.
She was smoking that Wildwood Weed.
The victim told the perp that she—the perp—was being rude to her (perp) boss and she (perp) should go home. At this point, one might assume victim and perp are coworkers. Perp then berates, chest bumps, and punches victim.
The only person who did anything wrong was the person arrested.
When I was working it was understood that you didn't "dis" the big boss.
LOL As a perk in recognition for being a good employee, I was invited to the Directors management meeting with his Senior Managers. The subject came up regarding a new attrition policy stating that basically, I would have to die before any of our team members could receive grade level promotions with pay increases. I and the other senior technicians were complaining about it and I derisively said, who came up with this plan anyway? Our Director, a retired Command Sergeant Major, said, "I did." Well at least he knew that I wasn't a yes man.
Back then our upper management was a real team. Our operational Vice President was a retired Colonel and our Director had worked for him in the Army. The Colonel years later became an elected Judge in Texas.
