To: Steve Van Doorn

I’m hoping to get 50 acre or more farm Southern Missouri, Kentucky or Tennessee. Wife is OK with that she wants to spend less then i do for the land. We expect to pay a lot for farm equipment. I’ve been learning a lot about modern farming techniques. Hopefully it will work out under budget. We want to go into it owing nothing.

Check the soil types. You will want Class 1 and Class II. Avoid clay soils.

Good advice. I notice even places that raised cattle for years it's not great for farming often lots of gravel.
