Austin is overrated, san antonio is good, houston is good, san diego is good, as far as my own town, Reno, all mexican food here is absolutely awful. I will say one thing about taco bell when they opened the first one in Monterrey, Mexico they interviewed the owner of Popos tacos in the newspaper, and asked him if he was threatened by the competition, the next few paragraphs contained only ja ja ja ja ja.
As far as mexican food in mexico, I find tex mex generally better with regional exceptions. North baja fish tacos in San Felipe, arrachera in Nuevo Leon and Jalisco and san luis potosi, ceviche in colima and michoacan, mole in puebla and oaxaca. Damn, now I’m hungry
