That reminds me of a story my stepdad (he is 90 years old) told me of how such was dealt with back in the day: the bad element was run out of town at gunpoint and the locals were not nice in doing so.
Yes...that’s how it was done. I’m 82. Homeless people were called vagrants and were run out of town. You had to PROVE that you had a job or an income. No freeloaders! No bums. I wonder, since we move around so much nowadays that we can’t develop a sense of “our town” to be looked after, protected.
