You beat me to it.
So I went and read several of his articles and I can confirm he is definitely a soy boy, he thinks that cars should have a “global emissions standard”, and he doesn’t seem to think CAFE standards are a problem.
In several articles he presents issues which should be handled by manufacturers and instead suggests the government impose more liberty stealing regulations and controls to save us from ourselves, so yes he is a commie whether he actually understands that or not.
Its sad really because he obviously has a love for all things automotive but I don’t think he understands why the automobile is such an American staple to express ones personal tastes and preferences.
The automobile in the United States for many owners is a great example of Liberty and Freedom as well as a celebration of achievement and satisfaction.
At least the author is young enough he may get to leave his academic sterile shelter and find some real world wisdom………
