You do know most Ukrainians speak Russian as a first language.

It’s like the Irish. Most speak English, not Gaelic as their first language. The Ukrainian Language is like Gaelic.

He was an actor and comedian, and got a big break from a production company that wrote the script in Russian. His first language is Russian, though he speaks Ukrainian well enough that he was elected, and also speaks English with an accent and some hesitation. Honestly, I can’t tell the difference between Russian and Ukrainian, except in the music. The former is usually starts slow and ends in a lively crescendo, and the latter is consistently melancholy and meditative.

If he were a “Putin stooge,” he would have surrendered on Day One. A genuine Putin Stooge was elected in 2013, and when he tried to sell the country out to Putin, there was a revolution and he fled the country—to Moscow.

Ukrainian. There’s a gag in there where the outgoing corrupt president complains, “I learned Ukrainian!”
