His first language is Russian, though he speaks Ukrainian well enough that he was elected, and also speaks English with an accent and some hesitation. Honestly, I can’t tell the difference between Russian and Ukrainian, except in the music. The former is usually starts slow and ends in a lively crescendo, and the latter is consistently melancholy and meditative.
If he were a “Putin stooge,” he would have surrendered on Day One. A genuine Putin Stooge was elected in 2013, and when he tried to sell the country out to Putin, there was a revolution and he fled the country—to Moscow.
