I use both. I run Mint on my older laptops, I get a few more useful years out of them. Also uni-task machines run various distros based on the use. The main PC runs Windows.

I’ve put Mint on a couple of laptops here beside windows.
Ubuntu was one I used a lot but I tried Mint on a box after Ubuntu simply failed to install, even on a fresh hdd.
Mint was no problem.
