I was going to post the exact same comment. Don’t sound like Ukraine names is all I can say.

Actually it’s within Avon city limits, I think. Brownsburg is plenty far away. It’s on 100 south near Ronald Reagan. Pretty sure that facility opened only a year ago, maybe 2.

My husband helps build and design warehouses, too. He said the same thing. What happened with the sprinkler system?

Homeland is saying if you see debris falling you need to seek shelter.

This building is likely concrete tilt wall construction. When they fall, they won’t spread out to a length -much- more than original height.

Brick is quite another story. Youtube is filled with videos of fire departments who parked their trucks within the collapse zone and ended up having to write a “dear chief” letter after their million dollar truck got flattened.

Typically we consider the collapse zone to be height x1.5.

that video of the wall failing seems to be exactly what you are saying.. I can envision why abrick would be a lot different when it failed.

A tilt wall building is composed of large reinforced concrete slabs standing up and are held up by the trusses spanning them.

Rule of thumb is steel is going to lose 1/2 of its strength at 1000 F.

The steel when heated is going to expand pushing the tops of the walls out.

It is surprising how little heat is required to trip a properly functioning sprinkler head.

If it gets painted over or is in the big sprinkler head recall it won’t work to spec.

I have seen CCTV of a kid putting about 4 squares of TP in a glass tube type head, lighting it, and acting surprised when it went off.

Prayers for the fire fighters. I hope they have enough O2 bottles. That smoke has to be super toxic.

Yeah, it’s about 3 miles away from the airport, and about 10 away from me. I can see the smoke still from my neighborhood, though it is dissipating. Fortunately, I’m not in the path of the ash.
