A woman nominated Friday to Florida’s Board of Education once petitioned deceased talk show host Rush Limbaugh for books for her local elementary school to be used by students as props for her husband’s state House campaign.
The move offers a glimpse into what her approach to curriculum might be like for some and potentially will bring renewed scrutiny to the nomination from others.
Esther Byrd, one of two names advanced for Senate confirmation Friday by Gov. Ron DeSantis, posted a plea for a classroom set of books on the Rush Limbaugh and the EIB Network Facebook Group.
Noting that Cord Byrd (a “dedicated listener” and a “real constitutionalist”) was running for state House at the time and speaking to an elementary school class in Callahan, Mrs. Byrd suggested that Limbaugh send enough books from his Rush Revere series for the entire cohort.

BTW, the author of the article isn't favorable to the idea as you will read.
What a terrible idea for the NEA.
They much prefer:
Heather Has Two Mommies, or Danny Has Two Daddies.
The Rush Revere series would be great for elementary schools.
So, what’s the problem?
And why not?
Usually, when referring to a famous person who has died, the term: 'the late...' is used, generally as a sign of respect. The length of time for use of 'the late' is somewhat proportional to the level of fame of the person.
That sentence should read:
"once petitioned the late Rush Limbaugh, who was a well known talk show host"
Maybe I am making too much of it, but I see it as small slap in the face, one directed at Rush.
What’s wrong with these books, except they’re written by someone the Left hates?
He doesn’t mention colonial gay sex, he doesn’t explore the virtues of being born a man or woman in the wrong body, or cover feminism and the wrongs of the patriarchy, anything pro-slavery, nor nothing that fires up the modern Woke Left.
He does, however, strongly cover freedom, natural rights, religious freedom and the desire to be free and even fight to stop oppression.
How horrible!
Not only that, but how do you petition a deceased person? Have a séance?
These were great books, just like RUSH. Hopefully she also got some of Huckster’s books on Trump as well :)
Of course, books on transgender 'rights', worship of homosexual 'ideals', encouraging racism among blacks.. those are, of course, A-OK.

Media has NOTHING BETTER TO DO.
Idiots.
Imagine the wokester version of a book on the American Revolution.
“I prithee, good Sir, how shall we dispense of this man who thinks he is a woman?”
“Put HER in charge of the cannon! SHE is a hero for our troubled times!”
If they can have “The Five Chinese Brothers” they can have Rush Revere and Liberty.
.
That hit me right between the eyes when I read it also.
.
Oh the evil of this. I can’t bear to think of it. “Women And Minorities Impacted The Most”...sarc
Good point!!
Glad I was not the only one!
Or “Danny Marries His Dad”..
Rush is still getting to them. RIP Rush.
