Corona beer took a hit.

Having said that it’s probably wise to remove that program. For security, there are a lot of apps and programs people shouldn’t be using. This is just one more to the list.

I have used two purchased security programs, one had an update that down loaded viruses. The other, on a test period made the PC run slow and erratic.

It’s not about cancel culture and it does make sense.

Cancel culture is out of control. It makes no sense.

I think "cancel culture" is really the same thing as "virtue signaling." Two sides of the same coin. Both are out of control.

Isn’t Windows antivirus sufficient?

“Do they say which anti-virus is FBI and NSA recommended?”

Whatever comes with Windows these days should fill the bill.

Kaspersky could find itself being used against its management's will to harm instead of protect its customers.

possible?

Wow, about 5 years too late, yeah? I remember the Feds ordering all agencies to remove all Kaspersky products about 5 years ago due to the CEO and founder's connections to Putin. God, the Germans never cease to amaze me regarding how foolish they often are.

Oh, and to those who are asking, Microsoft Defender (Comes build into Modern versions of Windows) is pretty much the best AV these days. If you want more AI driven protection you will need to pay for more expensive cloud services such as Cylance.

They’re all trying so hard to cancel Russia from the world stage and it’s freaking amusing! I wonder when the world map is going to change and just show huge void where Russia used to be. Idjiots

Didn’t trust it anymore.

Windows Defender is what I’ve been using. Not because I think it is the best, but it is probably good enough, and I’m unlikely to be of serious interest to anyone.

If you’re an average user there are primarily 3 things you should watch out for
1)email with attachments or links in the email.
2) when you’re going around on the web - the malware that will do a drive-by on you when you visit.
and
3) PC help scams, if they sucker you in you’ll likely end up with some massive malware and they’ll even bill you for their “services”.
Two excellent paid programs that will save you from just about all malware worries:
Malwarebytes Anti-malware
&
Eset Nod32 antivirus

I think so for Windows manchines. I also run Malwarebytes. Never had a problem but I am careful.

If you’re not sure how to disable Kaspersky, just ask Alexa to help you. She’s already listening, but she won’t tell a soul what’s in your computer.

Kaspersky has done more than any manufacturer ever to put these ideas to rest over the years. They maintain centers all over the “free world” where you can go in and inspect their code called “Transparency Centers” and their services are centered in Switzerland with hosting in numerous locations including the United States.
