The supply chain has many links. The ship congestion at Long Beach was a temporary thing as it is easy to reroute ships and use trucks instead. I see a lot of the supply problems arising in the scarcity of raw materials now, preventing the manufacturing of products.

Correct. The shipping issue was an easy one to solve. The scarcity problem is a much harder one.

China is getting richer. Ten years ago China was vacuuming up the world’s supplies of scrap steel and recycling. Today the Chinese consumer has discretionary income and the want video games, cars, and fancy clothes. Global capacity is not increasing fast enough to meet that new demand.
