Understand.
Well, if people want to know more, they should contact the person in question. Otherwise, all this is just spitballing.
I suppose that my grandparents, when informed by postcard that all of the Jews in their old neighborhood back in the "Old Country" were mysteriously disappearing, should have simply contacted "the Authorities" and asked what was happening.
I'm sure that - after six months - they would have been informed, "Oh, they have all opted to take a wonderful indefinite vacation in marvelous Dachau!"
In other words: In the political current climate, 90% of the news articles one finds have been carefully tailored to omit the most-relevant info. This is lamentable - but then implying that we FReepers are lazy because we don't first attempt contact the town mayor, the police chief, someone's PR representative, or the Dept. of Justice and ask for clarification is simply ludicrous!
We might just as well write to Mayor Lightfoot in Chicago and ask her whether the rising criminality might be due to White Supremacy.
Furthermore: Explicitly stating that we should hold our tongues until "all the information is on the table" or has been procured via laborious and time-consuming official channels is absurd and repugnant!
When we indulge in "spitballing," as you call it, there's always the hope that some FReeper might suddenly chime in with a useful bit of data, such as, "Folks, I work with the PGA and can confirm that 85% of all golfers are vaxxed and that 92% of all female golfers under 30 years of age are vaxxed."
That's (partly) why we talk here.
