Must be nice. Where I live in the midwest we haven’t nudged above 20 all week. Then again taxes are quite a bit lower.
The driver was NOT a ‘71 year old pedophile’.
Terrible. Two more China virus deaths.
My now deceased mom did this in her later years. A moment of confusion, mistook the gas for the brakes and drove into someone's living room. Fortunately, nobody was injured.
Happens more often than people realize.
Is gas lower? We’re trying to stay topped-off, and just paid twice what it used to cost for less than 5 gallons.
We have a small, fuel efficient car, and need to drive very little, so we used to get away with about $25.00 for more than twice that fuel, and go a whole month...
I can’t imagine what this is doing to people who drive for a living, or live far from work.
These deaths are on the Democrats. If not for the lockdowns, these people would have been eating indoors.
Seating diners where they can be struck by vehicles and not having pilings to protect them is deathly negligent.
We see, what you have described above all over N. California due to the Omnicrud B$!
Many of our main streets were of old vintage and had narrow streets with the sidewalks next to the streets often with minimal if any curbs.
So, in typical Covid knee jerk Wisdom, those sidewalks were overrun by tables & chairs, lights & plastic flowers.
Besides the obvious hazards, how about the vehicle exhaust fumes to fine tune your taste/smell senses.

There are lots of places in the DC area where restaurants have outdoor seating, and could be hit by a wayward car. That isn’t new with Covid at all, it’s been true for a long time. And we’ve had very nice weather a few days during the last week - people have wanted to be outside.
I can’t argue with you over the onerous ‘Covid’ rules; but we’ve had incidents like this before Covid, including cars crashing into INDOOR restaurants.
This was a problem with the driver and/or his car.
Yeah. Right.
What is your problem? It was an old man who lost control of the car.
(And I’m wondering how many other grumps on this thread know that indoor mask requirements in restaurants have been dropped in DC AND Montgomery County. If the people didn’t want to sit outside, they didn’t have to.)
Time to start roof top dining
