I am beginning to think there are a lot of old frustrated cold war era types out there that just cannot move along. Like some old WWII vet that won’t let a Toyota park in their driveway 70 years later.
I think some of these guys trained and trained and prepared for the big war with Russia. Then they just went away. Some of our side was enraged and feels cheated.
Like if a Superbowl opponent simply disbanded their team just before the big game. Some on our side are easily played by DC. You just have to awaken that sense of purpose they once had by pointing at the enemy from over 30 years ago. It’s really kinda sad.
When we were "good" and the enemy was evil. And now, confronting the reality that it is our nation which is spreading evil, they must long for simpler times, and a return to the normalcy that grounded their beliefs.
Good point, they obviously show no interest in researching the history there, or they wouldn’t be so pro Ukraine.
My take on this is a little different.
I think some Freepers are suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.
We have been fighting an endless assault of media lies for years and years—it is high stress and a form of torture.
Some Freepers have fought the good fight as prisoners of propaganda—but have now been broken by the current mass media xenophobia—and they identify with their captors.
