Poland Offers Entire Fleet Of MIG-29 Fighter Jets To US For Free To Fight In Ukraine

Poland has officially offered to turn over its entire fleet of MIG-29 fighter jets to the US free of charge to be deployed in Ukraine to fight Russians. Meanwhile, Pentagon has warned that if Poland sends jets to Ukraine, it would mean that NATO is at war.

According to the statement by Polish authorities:

The authorities of the Republic of Poland, after consultations between the President and the Government, are ready to deploy – immediately and free of charge – all their MIG-29 jets to the Ramstein Air Base and place them at the disposal of the Government of the United States of America. 

At the same time, Poland requests the United States to provide us with used aircraft with corresponding operational capabilities. Poland is ready to immediately establish the conditions of purchase of the planes. 

The Polish Government also requests other NATO Allies – owners of MIG-29 jets – to act in the same vein.

The Pentagon said that Poland’s offer to give MiG-29 fighter jets to the U.S. so they can be passed to Ukraine raises serious concerns for the NATO alliance and the plan is not “a tenable one.”

Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said in a statement that the prospect of jets departing from a U.S. NATO base in Germany to fly into airspace contested with Russia in the Ukraine war is concerning. He said it’s not clear to the U.S. that there is a substantive rationale for it.

“To my knowledge, it wasn’t pre-consulted with us that they plan to get these planes to us,” said U.S. Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland, who told lawmakers she learned of the proposal as she was driving to testify about the Ukraine crisis before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Yes they called Biden’s Bluff. It is a No-Win situation for Poland. If Poland flies the jets to Ukraine and any get shot down over Ukrainian territory, those were NATO jets w/Polish pilots being shot down. Article 5 NATO crap comes into play.

If Ukraine sends pilots to Poland to “pick up” the aircraft and are shot down over Ukrainian territory, NATO will be seen as “actively” providing a safe base and support for Ukrainian operations. Act of war against Russia. It would be safe to assume that those jets would leave fully fueled and armed.

If they want to send the planes so damn bad, truck them to the border and let Ukraine figure it out from there.

The timing matters.

Before a war starts selling weapons is business as usual.

Once a war starts, sending arms is a hostile military act to the nation fighting the recipient.

Sending weapons is not the same as being in the war. This is just bullythug BS to keep any help out while the murderer commits his grisly crimes.

Violating neutrality law would make the offender a party to the war and a legitimate target for Russia. A neutral nation loses the rights of neutrality when it arms a belligerent party to an armed conflict of an international nature (IAC).

Obligations of Neutral States under Hague V and XIII

A neutral State is prohibited from allowing a belligerent party to use its territory as a base of military operations or for any other exercise of belligerent rights. Hague Convention V does not explicitly prohibit a neutral State from supplying a belligerent State with military equipment. Its Article 7 merely deals with the “export or transport, on behalf of one or other of the belligerents, of arms, munitions of war, or, in general of anything which can be of use to an army or fleet” by private actors, which a neutral State “is not called upon to prevent.” This surprising gap in Hague Convention V, however, does not imply a right of a neutral State to supply a belligerent party with such items. Therefore, Hague Convention V implicitly forbids the transfer of weapons and ammunition to a belligerent.

Poland is perfectly willing to give the planes, free of charge, to the United States and to let the United States carry out Blinken's initiation of expanding the war. All Poland did was call out Blinken's B.S. for what it was.
