My favorite line from Archie was when he found a box of poetry Mike wrote to Gloria, “well, ain’t you a regular Edgar Allen Pollack.”
no bacon?
That would be over the top. LOL!
Food Karen comments are missing: “ burgers with red meat, cheese, and salted french fries are bad for you!”
Without projections of guilt, how can anyone enjoy a Cheeseburger in Paradise?
I always get the fruit cup with my soy-burger.
Of course, and never finish them :)
sickie!
Oh, now I’m hungry! Yes, that’s almost exactly how I like to eat a burger. I always get a loaded baked potato and a cold beer with my burger at Beck’s Prime, my favorite burger place in Houston.
I like toasted, buttered ciabatta rolls which are pretty chewy and substantial, so the solution for me was to put the blue cheese crumbles and red onions inside the burger, grill it that way, and just slap a little guacamole on top once cooked. Less burgerslide that way.
Of course no restaurant makes them that way, and I can't make decent fries at home. That conundrum can only be solved either by sending the lady to go pick up fries and hope that she returns with the contents unconsumed, or just go with tater-tots from the freezer.
get a cast iron pan, you can make better fries at home, but it is a chore.
If you KNOW you are going to eat both, why not start with the fries?
I have never in my life eaten the fries and gone “gosh, I am just too full to eat my burger.”
However, when I have eaten my burger first, I am stuck with cold, soggy fries.
When I am trying to cut back on calories, I will eat the burger first just so it is easier to eat fewer fries.
As an aside, I got into a heated argument with a FB friend over eating McDonalds while on a diet. This same “friend” had been dismissive of my metabolic issues and claimed that weight loss was only burning more calories than you take in. She also said that it was highly unlikely that I - a 6’ tall 266 pound man - burned less than 2000 a day.
This all came about because I pointed out that a Big Mac and Large fries are 1040 calories and, if that is all you eat in a day, you should lose weight. The same butinski that insinuated that I cheat on my diets - which is why I don’t lose weight - chimed in that it is IMPOSSIBLE to eat McDonalds and lose weight.
When I pointed out previous posts where she had said that losing weight was just calories in and calories out, she lashed out and argued that McDonalds was nothing but junk and would always make you fat. So in her leftist world...
Republicans are always racist.
Fossil fuels are always bad.
Nuclear power is always bad.
EV’s are always good.
McDonalds will always make you fat.
Liberalism is a mental disease.
amen
Bit of burger... bit of fries... repeat.
Since Putin’s war began, Poutine is now known as French Freedom Fries.
"Zack's Hamburgers" - Unfortunately...now closed. It was a landmark.
covid victim?
I don’t know. Family run business...father passed the restaurant down to the son and the son’s wife years ago. Thriving business, wonderful people. I went several times during the lockdown and they had a good system and plenty of business. I hope they’re ok. (Pretty sure the father passed a long time ago.) Prime piece of property...maybe they got an offer they couldn’t refuse.
Found this in the local paper...
“After battling through COVID-19, however, the Dempoulous family has decided to close the business. Demopoulos told CharlotteFive last Monday, June 21, that vulnerabilities have surfaced with COVID — ones that restaurant owners could have never dreamed of preparing for. He asked us to wait until June 28 to share the news of the restaurant’s closing.”
“After so many years working 14 to 15 hour days, it has taken a toll on my body,” Demopoulos said. “You know when it is time.”
